DATES FOR TAICHUNG BIKE WEEK 2010: 4-8 December

Welcome to 2010 Taichung Bike Week

The preparations for TBW 2010 are well underway and we are pleased to announce the dates for 2010. As last year, TBW week will act as the umbrella for several events, which historically take place in the first weeks of December.

TBW will take place from December 4 to 8, 2010 and will be a linking event between Ride On which will take place December 1 to 6, 2010 and Sram’s Taiwanathon December 5 to 8, 2010. TBW has managed to bring the bicycle industry together under one umbrella and strives to provide product managers with the perfect environment in which they utilize their time in Taichung and perform their duties with maximum efficiency.

As last year, the TBW main hotels will be the Evergreen Hotel, Tempus Hotel in downtown Taichung and Freshfields for Ride Only a half an hour free shuttle ride away.

Both Tempus and Evergreen are doing their best to accommodate all exhibitors and customers. The beauty of this location is there are only 200 mts apart.

Tempus is right now fully booked for exhibitors and guest rooms are filling up fast. In order to enjoy the best hotel rates it makes sense to book early as once the lower rate room have gone you will wish you had booked earlier

The Taichung City government will again support the event with shuttle busses between the participating hotels Fresh fields, Tempus, Evergreen and with visitor and exhibitor information services at each of the hotels. The shuttle buses will run every 30 minutes and are free to all bicycle industry people.

The bike routes will be marked out again allowing riders to enjoy some amazing riding on great roads only 5km from the city centre. There are four routes which all connect to each other and the map is available for download from the website. The route is very well marked and proved very popular with foreign riders who had never experienced riding in Taiwan before.

The TBW dinner will be hosted courtesy of Mayor Hu on Dec. 6, 2010 at the Evergreen hotel. This amazing networking event is free to members of the bicycle industry, but due to high interest it will be necessary to register at the website as the biggest venue in Taichung is inside the Evergreen and 350 guests filled the dinner venue in 2009 to enjoy what is without doubt the best networking event in the bicycle industry. If any more had turned up in 2009, they would have been eating their food in the corridors. Please ensure you register for the dinner in plenty of time.

For 2010, Cathay Pacific will become the official airline for TBW and will support this event with special travel packages for flights from major European and American cities. Hopefully the final details will be available very soon we are just trying to tie up the loose ends with Cathay Pacific.

Please visit the TBW web site at www.taichung-bike-week.com to assist with hotel accommodations or flights at discounted rates, and to book exhibition space if still available. The web site will indicate where each brand is exhibiting will facilitate exhibitor meeting arrangements, as well as provide information about local restaurants and bars together with other useful information.

We hope that you will find the TBW 2010 a successful and productive event, all of which has been organized by bike industry volunteers whose objective is to make everyone’s efforts more effective and efficient and to improve our industry as a whole.
